King's Lynn Academy (formerly "The Park High School") is one of the three secondary (11-16 or 18) schools in the West Norfolk town of King's Lynn. It is situated on Queen Mary Road in the Gaywood area of King's Lynn. The school opened in 1939, originally with separate schools for boys and girls. Until 1997 it was known as Gaywood Park High School.

The school has a strong rivalry with King Edward VII School as the schools are separated by a cycle path.

Recent history

In 2006, Deputy Headteacher Dr. Robert Rogers took over as Headteacher from David Stevens who had to leave due to a long-term illness. During this period of take-over The Park High School was given a notice to improve by Ofsted.

In December 2006 the possibility of the school becoming an Academy was raised. The school became an academy in September 2010, known as King's Lynn Academy, which is sponsored by Norfolk County Council and the College of West Anglia. The Academy has a primary specialism of mathematics, and a secondary specialism of business and enterprise. Ms. Alison Ross resigned from Headteacher status in May 2011. The current headteacher is Mr. Craig Morrison. [1]
